To our valued members, volunteers, and partners:
We, like many of you, have been paying attention to the news surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus.
These are uncertain times for the entire community, and the health and well-being of you as well as your families, during these times is something that is on all of our minds. Because of this, the Parkway Center has closed to the public so that we can help to slow the spread of the virus, especially as we serve one of the most vulnerable populations. During this time, we have undergone a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the entire building so that when we re-open, you will have the peace of mind of knowing that we have done all we can to ensure your safety and well-being. Our staff are working from home and helping to keep you connected to services and developing ways to share programs in “non-traditions” ways.
At the Parkway Center our mission is to “provide programs and services to individuals 50+ empowering them to live healthy and vibrant lives.” We know how important this mission is now more than ever, we are committed to following our mission despite not being open to the public. We are working on ways to bring programs and services to you through some non-traditional ways, with the use of technology and the internet. We have begun sharing resources and tips every day on our Facebook page and website; and we are working with partners to develop programming that can be brought to your homes through these sources. Some of you may not have the ability to connect online, so our staff are also making personal phone calls to check on everyone’s well-being and providing information on resources available in the community.
This has truly been one of the most difficult times in our history, and I want to sincerely thank each of you for your patience and support as we face the unknown. Throughout this time, we are grateful to those in the community that are finding ways to respond responsibly to this crisis to help those among us who have the most need. You are all a part of the Parkway Center family and I hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy now and in the days to come.
